Ivydale, W.Va. (WVDN) – On Thursday, April 3, 2025, TFC R.E. Wiseman was advised of two deceased victims located at a residence in Ivydale, WV. Brenda Lee Dennis (Victim 1) and Richard Lee Bishop (Victim 2) were located after family members became concerned when they could not make contact with Brenda Dennis. TFC Wiseman responded to the residence and observed both victims deceased from apparent gunshot wounds. Brenda Dennis is a 54-year-old female from Ivydale, WV and Richard Bishop is a 38-year-old male from Maysel, WV. During the ensuing investigation, Michael Wayne Adkins, 58-year-old male from Duck, WV, was identified as a suspect and had a relationship with Brenda Dennis. After further investigation, Michael Wayne Adkins was charged with two counts of 1st Degree Murder, was incarcerated at Central Regional Jail, and awaits arraignment in Clay County.
