Some history on the Organ Cave WVCEOS club. Organ Cave has the distinction of being the mother of the movement of Farm Women’s club work in Greenbrier County. The club was organized on February 26, 1938, through the efforts and cooperation of many of the Organ Cave community women, and with the assistance of Miss Virginia Callison (Mrs. Virginia Campbell), who was the Monroe County Home Demonstration Agent. Anne Boggs, Farm Women’s club leader for southern West Virginia, came and met with them. This was the first club organized in Greenbrier County. The club began as a Community and Home Improvement Club, and through the years, Organ Cave WVCEOS has remained a very active club.
New members are welcome to join this club and others throughout the county. Contact Andi Hoover, WVU Extension Agent, Family Community Development at the Extension Office: phone number is 304-647-7408.
