FAIRLEA- Greenbrier East High School hosted its first track meet since 2011 on Saturday, March 22 that featured eight teams, including Alleghany County in Virginia.
Greenbrier East, Greenbrier West, and James Monroe represented this area and all three had good showings on both the boys’ and girls’ sides.
The Spartans’ Annie Whited took home two first-place finishes in the 100-meter dash and the 200-meter dash. Emma Jo Palmer placed first in the 100-meter hurdles, and the Spartan girls also took first place in the 4×100 shuttle hurdles, the 4×200-meter relay, and the 4×400-meter relay.
On the boys’ side, East’s Nate Suttle cruised to a first-place finish in the 100-meter dash and for Greenbrier West, Colton Dunbar was first in the 110-meter hurdles.
William Jackson wrapped a first-place finish in the 400-Meter Dash for the Mavericks.
