ARBUCKLE
Douglas Hale Arbuckle, 60, of Lewisburg passed away Thursday, March 18, 2021, at Charleston Area Medical Center.
Doug was born November 26, 1960, in Ronceverte, WV, to Geraldine Lewis Arbuckle and the late Hale Houston Arbuckle, Jr.
Doug was a graduate of Greenbrier East High School, West Virginia University, and the WVU College of Law. He maintained a law office in Lewisburg for 30 years. Doug was a member of Meadow Grove Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher, and in various other capacities. A past member of the Maxwelton Ruritan Club, he also served on the Steve Baldwin scholarship committee.
Doug was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed coaching his daughter’s softball team and when not coaching, keeping the stats for the team. He supported and encouraged his daughter in any sport that she was participating in, including her years of playing volleyball, beginning in middle school and continuing through her college years at Glenville.
He was preceded in death by his father, Hale Houston Arbuckle, Jr., who passed away on October 3, 2020.
Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Louvonne Legg Arbuckle; a daughter, Kerri Grace Arbuckle of Lewisburg; mother, Geraldine Lewis Arbuckle; sister, Celia E. Moore of Lewisburg; and niece, Elana Roseberry and husband, Tedd of Charlotte, NC.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. March 23, 2021, at Meadow Grove Baptist Church at Dawson, WV, with Pastor Billy Pate and Pastor Leslie Mullens officiating. Visitation will be two hours before the service at the church on Tuesday.
Burial will follow at Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville.
