Dora Pauline Bennett, 95, of Caldwell, WV, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2025, following a brief illness at CAMC Greenbrier Valley Medical Center in Fairlea, WV.
Born in Greenup, KY, on July 16, 1929, she was the daughter of Freeland and Mary Stowe Smith. Pauline was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She was devoted to caring for her family and always found a way to make the best of every circumstance. Her kindness, strength, and spirit will be deeply missed, and the wonderful memories she leaves behind will be cherished by all who knew her.
Pauline is survived by her son, Michael R. Bennett (wife, Martha); daughter-in-law, Betty Bennett; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alan Bennett; her parents, Freeland and Mary Smith; seven brothers, Bob, Haywood, Hobart, David, Edward, John, and Carl; two sons, Denver and Larry Bennett; one grandchild, Larry Bennett Jr.; and her sisters, Betty Church and Nellie Brooks.
A service to celebrate Pauline’s life will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025, at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg, WV. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m., with the funeral service at 12 p.m. Pastor William (Hat) Defibaugh of Lewisburg Community Church will officiate.
