The Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Department responded to reports of a domestic disturbance call in White Sulphur Springs on March 3.

According to the criminal complaint, while en route, the Greenbrier County 911 Center advised that the suspect was Ryan Preston Flanagan, 25, of Wayside. The 911 Center further also advised that the suspect had fled on foot into a wooded area.

After deputies arrived on the scene, the victim advised that Flanagan had shown up at her residence and thrown Sprite at her, the criminal complaint states. The complaint goes on to say that she told deputies that she screamed at him to leave and he took a “swing” at her.

The victim went back inside the house to retrieve pepper spray, according to the criminal complaint. After going back outside, Flanagan pushed her to the ground where she proceeded to spray him with the pepper spray. The complaint states that Flanagan proceeded to punch and kick the victim stating “I’ll kill you for this”, referring to being pepper-sprayed. He then fled into the wooded area.

According to the criminal complaint, Flanagan was located approximately one-quarter of a mile from the scene by police. He was subsequently arrested for domestic battery. At the time of his arrest, Flanagan allegedly stated that he and the victim had been fighting and he had pushed her.

Flanagan is currently being held at the Southern Regional Jail. His bail for this incident has been set at $2,000, cash only.
