ROANE COUNTY W.Va. (WVDN) – A 19-year-old was life-flighted and a man is in jail after a shooting in the area of Nancy’s Run.
The West Virginia State Police stated in a release that, “On Monday, Dec. 16, at approximately 9:15 p.m., Senior Trooper J. M. Mack and Trooper J. M. Carvell responded to Nancy’s Run for a shots fired call.”
When units arrived at the location, they “were advised that the victim, a 19-year-old female, had been shot numerous times and was transported to Roane General Hospital.” The release further states that the victim was later life-flighted to CAMC- General Division for medical treatment. Additionally, “Upon conducting their investigation, troopers began searching for the suspect, a 27-year-old male, Scott Breeden, of Charleston.”
The WVSP statement also says, “Special Operations K9 and SRT Units were deployed to the scene to assist with the search for the suspect, who had fled on foot. Aviation was unable to assist in the search for the perpetrator due to weather. WVSP Crime Scene Team Bravo responded and processed the scene.
“Senior Trooper Mack obtained warrants for Scott Breeden through Roane County on charges of Attempted Murder and Malicious Wounding.
“After extensive investigation, Scott Breeden was taken into custody in Dunbar, West Virginia on the above stated charges. Scott Breeden was incarcerated at South-Central Regional Jail. The victim is in stable condition at CAMC General. This incident remains under investigation.”
