CAMP CREEK W.Va. (WVDN) – One person lost their life after a traffic incident on Dec. 3. The West Virginia State Police released the following statement:
“On Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2024, Lewann M. Shrewsberry, 48 of Camp Creek, WV was traveling south on Interstate 77. Upon approaching the 42MM entrance ramp (Crab Orchard/Mabscott) the vehicle she was operating struck a WV Parkways Authority Courtesy Patrol Vehicle, which was stationary in the left lane blocking traffic for a separate crash. The West Virginia Parkway Authority vehicle had its emergency equipment and arrow board activated at the time of the crash. Subsequentially, Mrs. Shrewsberry’s vehicle went across the highway and was struck by a southbound commercial truck (CMV). Mrs. Shrewsberry was found to be deceased within the vehicle. This crash is under investigation by Corporal M. J. Glende and is being reconstructed by F/Sgt D.M. McMillan. This investigation remains active and ongoing.”
