Wilda Morgan Honaker

Wilda Morgan Honaker, 91, of Ronceverte, passed away with her family by her side on December 1, 2024, at the Lewisburg Healthcare Center, Ronceverte.

She was born January 8, 1933, in Ronceverte and was the daughter of the late Glen and Laura Morgan.

Wilda was a homemaker, and she spent her whole life taking care of her family. She was devoted to her late husband for 68 years and adored her children and grandchildren. Bowling was one of her many hobbies, but spent time earlier in life on a bowling league, and she had a fierce passion for her flower gardens in the summer, and she almost never missed the chance to find a good yard sale.

Wilda always had a beautiful smile and an infectious laugh, that most everyone who knew her could relate to. Her laugh could turn any sad face and frown into a smile. A devout member of Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church, dedicated to serving her faith, Wilda was a pillar to her church community, and her life exemplified Christian values.

Preceding her in death were her husband of 68 years, Joe J. Honaker; two daughters, Bonita J. Masters and Rita J. Honaker; sisters, twin sister – Hilda Bostic, Beulah Morgan, and Jane Mohler; brothers, Alfred, Lagene, Carl, John W., Donald, and Harley; and nephew raised as a brother, Phillip “Pete” Morgan.

Surviving are her sons, Lanny Honaker (Dr. Terri Elliott) of Lewisburg and Steve Honaker (Rita) of Ronceverte; grandchildren, Laura Witt (Paul) of Dawson, Jared Masters (Alyssa) of White Sulphur Springs, Eric Honaker (Colleen) of Raleigh, NC, Carrie Neese (Cory) of Harrisonburg, VA, and Jordon Masters (Whitney) of Morgantown; great-grandchildren, Tyler O’Brien (Marella), Jacob Witt (Shaely), Sophia Masters, Owen Neese, and Nora Neese; son-in-law, Frank Masters; a niece that was raised as a sister, Ellen Haynes of Covington, VA; special friend and caregiver, Connie Midkiff; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 6, 2024, at 2 p.m. at the Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg with Elder Thomas Mann officiating. Interment will follow at the Morgan Cemetery in Ronceverte.

The family will receive family and friends from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Tyler O’Brien, Jacob Witt, Jordon Masters, Eric Honaker, Jared Masters, and Paul Witt.
