LEWISBURG W.Va. (WVDN) – The West Virginia Daily News is partnering with the Children’s Home Society to collect Christmas gifts for children in need this holiday season.
The newspaper office, located at 188 Foster Street, will serve as a drop-off location for donations. Donations are accepted Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The deadline to donate is Dec. 2.
The goal is to collect 100 gifts for children of all ages.
“We’re excited to partner with the Children’s Home Society to bring some holiday cheer to children in need,” said WVDN editor Rebecca Stalnaker. “These gifts will make a real difference in their lives.”
According to Mary Carr, Lewisburg Site Manager for the Children’s Home Society, commonly requested items include Legos, Nerf guns, Barbies, baby doll accessories, character items like Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Paw Patrol, Disney Princesses, ride-on toys, Playdough, developmental toys for babies and toddlers, kitchen play sets, tool play sets, superhero toys (Spiderman, Batman), and monster trucks.
The Children’s Home Society is a statewide nonprofit organization that provides a wide range of services to children and families, including foster care, adoption and mental health services.
