Ralph Norman Crookshanks, 74, passed away suddenly on Thursday, February 27, 2020, at the Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Born and raised in Crawley, WV, he was the son of Franklin and Goldie Crookshanks.
He was a long time resident of Lewisburg, WV.
A carpenter by trade and a fix it all to anyone who knew him, Ralph was always at work with his hands. Whether it was helping out a friend or tinkering on one of his latest inventions, he kept himself always busy.
An avid lover of traveling and music, especially bluegrass, Ralph was known for his flatfoot dancing. Always up for adventure, he could usually be found near the sound of live music or at a bluegrass festival.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Everette, Cleo, and Stella.
He leaves behind his daughter, Vickie Cooper (Doug); two granddaughters, Erica Price and Heather Higginbotham (Russ); and four great-grandchildren, Carter, Andrew, Grant, and Auroara.
He also leaves behind his siblings, Louise Duffield, Truman Crookshanks, and Willie Crookshanks; as well as many nieces and nephews, and many close friends.
At Ralph’s request, his body was donated to the Virginia State Anatomical Program for the advancement of science. A celebration of life service will be held in his honor at a future date.
