Joseph A. Cooke
Joseph A. Cooke, 87, of Ronceverte, WV, formerly of Jessup, MD, passed away on October 20, 2024, at the Peyton Hospice House in Fairlea, with family by his side.
He was born January 12, 1937, in Baltimore, MD, and was the son of the late Joseph (Sr.) and Pearle Cooke.
Lovingly known as Pop or Pop-Pop, he had worked for A & P for 38 years. He loved hunting, fishing, coins, football, and his family.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Pearl Cooke.
Family members are siblings, Alvin, Pearl, Clinton, Billy, Charles, John, and Gene; children from first marriage to Doris-Donna, Diane, Carole, Nancy, Denise, Joe Jr., Barbara, Mary, and Janet; from second marriage to Gloria-Angela Dickson, Maureen Lucas, Sharon Brown, Debra Kirby, Shawn Ellis, and Joseph G. Cooke; over 50 grand and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Pop will be Friday, October 25, 2024, at 12 p.m. at the Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg with Shawn Ellis as Speaker. Interment will follow at the Bethel Cemetery in Organ Cave.
The family will receive family and friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at the funeral home and again Friday, October 25th, from 11 a.m. until time of services.
