Mrs. Mary Brown Entsminger, age 89, of White Sulphur Springs, WV, died on Friday, January 24, 2020, at the LewisGale Hospital Alleghany in Low Moor, VA. She was the wife of Ernest Grant Entsminger.
Mrs. Entsminger was born on January 13, 1931, in Covington, VA, and was the daughter of Earl Henry Brown and Willye Hinton Brown.
During her working career, she had been employed by the former Industrial Rayon, the former Hercules, and was employed as a massage therapist by The Greenbrier hotel before her retirement. Mary enjoyed embroidery, sewing, gardening, cooking, and even worked on the cookbook for her church. She was a member of the Alvon United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Entsminger was preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Entsminger; a son, Ernest Entsminger; and four sisters, Frances Louise Brown, Margie BrownSmith, Phyllis Brown Watts, and Betty Brown Wilhelm.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Entsminger is survived by three sons, Julian Robert Entsminger (Patricia) of San Bruno, CA, Richard Grant Entsminger of Harrisonburg, VA, and Stuart Lee Entsminger and friend, Pamela Wyatt of Goldsboro, NC; two daughters, Susanne Spindler (Leo) of South Carolina and Ernestine E. Critzer of Roanoke, VA; six grandchildren, Tyler Wright, Grace Critzer, Aaron Critzer, Jared Critzer, Laura Karwoski, and Joshua Spindler; a brother, Earl “Buddy” Brown (Garsilda) of Covington; a sister, Beverly Brown Barnett of Covington; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2020, at the Alvon United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ed Craft officiating, assisted by the Rev. Buck Caldwell.
A private family interment will be held at the Johnson Creek Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
