Alberta “Birdie” Baker Cole, 84, of Tempe, AZ, formerly of Ronceverte, WV, passed away on Monday, January 6, 2020, at her home.
Born on October 20, 1935, in Ronceverte, she was the daughter of Charles Lester and Leta Pearl Weikle Baker.
Birdie was a member of the Crosspoint Church in Tempe. She worked for the phone company for 43 years, retiring as an engineering tech.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Wykle; and a brother, Charles Winfred Baker.
Survivors include her son, Bryan Cole (Rochelle) of Tempe; brothers, Delmas Baker (Elizabeth) of San José, Panama, Randolph Baker, and Toby Baker, both of Ronceverte; sisters, Dorothea Judy of Davidson, NC, Phyllis Toney, Evelyn Gainey, and Jackie Dyer, all of Richmond, VA, Jeanne Bostic (Steve) of Alderson, WV, and Debbie Masters (Keith) of Ronceverte; twin grandchildren on the way; along with many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2020, at the Morgan Funeral Home Chapel, 252 Montvue Drive, Lewisburg, WV 24901, with Pastor Gary Baker officiating.
Burial will follow at the Honaker Cemetery in Ronceverte.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of the service, Saturday, at the funeral home.
