Paul R. Cooley Jr., 77, of Lewisburg, WV, was called home on Thursday, January 2, 2020.
Born on May 23, 1942, he was the son of the late Paul R. Cooley Sr. and Viola Cooley.
Paul graduated from Bowling High School in Lewisburg. He worked many years at Mead WestVaco in Covington, VA, where he later retired.
Paul is survived by his wife, Valerie Cooley; daughter, Vanessa Walker (Mike); son, Gary Cooley (Peggy); his dog daughter, Roxy Cooley; sister, Janice Cooley; and brother, Maurice Cooley (Debbie). He was “Popps” to his grandchildren, Robert Cooley (Katie) and Brandon Cooley; and one great-grandson, Bryson Cooley.
Paul will be remembered for his teasing jokes, his powerful testimony, his unfailing work ethic, and his generosity towards everyone. He loved his family and his dog. He left his mark on this earth and everyone who knew him will remember him for his one-of-a-kind personality.
Visitation will be held at the McCraw Funeral Home in Lewisburg on Wednesday, January 8, 2020, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Greg Scott officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made out to McCraw Funeral Homes, 150 Courtney Dr., Lewisburg, WV 24901.
