Howard Blake Christle

Howard Blake Christle, 81, of Lewisburg, passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at White Sulphur Springs Center, following an extended illness. Howard was born December 25, 1942, in Natick, MA.

Howard was the son of the late Arnold and Dorothy Hawes Christle. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Arnold Christle, and his young son, Gregory Christle. Survivors include his wife, Janet W. Christle, of Lewisburg; a daughter, Paulianne McMaster (her husband, Phillip); a son, Blake Christle (his wife, Paris); two stepchildren, Michelle Blodgett and Fred Portzline; two brothers, Henry Christle and Ralph Christle; and grandchildren, Madison Christle and Reilley McMaster.

As a young man, Howard had a passion for basketball, football, and golf. He was a big follower of the Boston Celtics and the New England Patriots. Howard was a Veteran Navy Submariner, before embarking on a career in Purchasing Management. In his retirement, Howard enjoyed spending time gardening, tending to his flowers, and communicating with members of the West Virginia Ham Radio Organization, to which he belonged.

Howard was loved and admired for his kindness, big heart, and commitment to his family.

Howard will be cremated, and plans are currently being made for burial in New England. Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg is overseeing arrangements.
