ALDERSON W.Va. (WVDN) – Cheryl Mansley and Reni Fulton have teamed up to bring a monthly Writer’s Open Mic to Alderson, WV. The first will take place on Saturday, September 28, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Train Depot, #1 Railroad Avenue in Alderson.
Writers of original poetry, prose, short fiction, memoirs, and essays are invited to sign up upon arrival to read and share their work. The Open Mic is free and open to the public. Those who do not write but appreciate the creativity of others are welcome to come and enjoy.
Reni Fulton has been a writer all her life. She has garnered awards for her poetry and memoir writing and has been published in the magazines Sage Women, The Onion Review, and other publications. She was recently a judge for the annual contest sponsored by The Pennsylvania Poetry Society and is a member of West Virginia Writers.
Cheryl Mansley is a long-time events producer, artist, and educator. She has been a teaching artist for Carnegie Hall and the Greenbrier Valley Theater in Lewisburg, WV, and performs in the duo Little Maggie with singer-songwriter Mary Dailey. She is a member of Alderson Main Street and greatly enjoys bringing people together to create community.
