FRANKFORD W.Va. WVDN) – The Ladies of the Henning Church of God held their regular monthly meeting, on Tuesday, August 6, in the church fellowship hall. Carole Spencer presided and Donna Scott led in prayer. The ladies provided the following report:

“Dyan Hefner gave the devotion, ‘Be Intentional.’ Intentional means doing something on purpose or being deliberate. We are encouraged when someone does something intentional by remembering us. Feeling forgotten, an afterthought or invisible to those around us is no fun. We have emotions and feelings like the Lord. Sometimes we treat him as an afterthought. The light can grow dim and we risk growing apart from him and falling apart. We serve a living God. God craves a relationship with us as much as we crave a relationship with others. Take your relationship with God and be intentional. We need to grow in grace. (James1:23-24)

“Cindy Fleshman gave the missionary education report by sharing a story written by Elly Derr, ‘A Missionary Pilot’s Miracle Landing.’ The pilot was her husband and was having engine trouble in the Andes Mountains. There was nowhere to land. A missionary and her four children were also on board. He asked her to, “Pray” along with the missionary. The plane came through a pass and there was a small green field in which he landed successfully. Elly drove down to meet him and he was surrounded by a crowd of Indians. Everyone was unharmed. One farmer kept repeating “Es un Milagro,” which means “It’s a miracle.” They all assumed he was talking about the landing, but his miracle was something else. The field had been filled with cows grazing peacefully, and then suddenly, they all started moving to one side of the field just before the plane landed.

“Jamie Harvey gave the treasurer’s report. Pauline Perkins read last month’s minutes.

“The group will be serving the Maxwelton Ruritans on August 22. The group will be having an indoor yard, bake and hot dog sale on Saturday, September 7, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.”

The next meeting will be September 10 and Angie Scott dismissed in prayer.

Attending were Alice Coff, Angie Scott, Cari Nelson, Carole Spencer, Cindy Fleshman, Carol Spencer, Donna Scott, Dyan Hefner, Fran Spencer, Jamie Harvey, Joan Vance, Marty Burns, Michelle Carpenter, Pauline Perkins, Patty Owens, Peggy Seldomridge and Sue Hunt.
