James Lesley Meadows, 77, passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2019, at the Greenbrier Valley Medical Center.
Born on August 29, 1942, in Hinton, WV, he was the son of Basil Warren and Gertrude Ruth Hogan Meadows.
Mr. Meadows was a member of the NRA, and was locally known as the “Woodman.”
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Wesley Meadows.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Margie Sparks Meadows; daughters, Leslie Jackson (John Burns) of Lewisburg, WV, and Alethea Gallagher (Jim) of Lewisburg; stepson, James Baker (Terra) of Lewisburg; stepdaughter, Ellen Elmore (Tom) of Second Creek, WV; son-in-law, Hassel Jackson of Lewisburg; grandchildren, Michael Elmore (Paige), Justin Meadows (Megan), Scotty Elmore, Brian Gallagher (Chantella), Derick Meadows, Josh Hall (Morgan), Briana Adams, Chelsie Baker, Hunter Baker and Peyton Jackson; great-grandchildren, Nova and Bishop Elmore, Gatlin Elmore, Camden Hall, and Ruger Davis; sister, Helen Meadows Reiber of Essington, PA; two nieces, Brenda Ellmore and Helen Marie Henshaw of Pennsylvania; nephew, Allen Kinder of Danese, WV; and his special K9 companion, Scooter.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Monday, September 23, 2019, at the Morgan Funeral Home Chapel, 252 Montvue Drive, Lewisburg, WV 24901, with Pastor Larry Dean officiating. Burial will follow in the Whatcoat UMC Cemetery in White Sulphur Springs, WV.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday, September 22, 2019, at the funeral home.
Grandsons and a special great- nephew, Ernie Ellmore, will serve as pallbearers.
