Anthony began composing music in 2021 and rose to prominence in 2022 with “Oliver Anthony Music.” His major breakthrough was the independent release of “Rich Men North of Richmond” in August 2023, which soared to the top of the Billboard Hot 100. Remarkably, he managed this without any previous chart history until a West Virginia social media page promoted his song, significantly increasing its exposure.
