RONCEVERTE, W.Va. — For years, the Ronceverte Food Pantry has been a cornerstone of support in the community, ensuring that residents in need have access to essential food supplies. However, the pantry’s former location in the armory building is no longer an option.

In a proactive move, two dedicated board members of the Ronceverte Food Pantry have taken significant steps to secure the pantry’s future. They have purchased the former Nazarene Church to transform it into the pantry’s new permanent location. This transition will involve demolishing the existing structure and constructing a new facility to better serve the community.

While this long-term solution is being developed, the pantry faced an immediate challenge: finding a temporary location to continue its vital operations. The board members and volunteers actively sought a suitable temporary space to ensure there was no interruption in their services.

The city worked to help find a temporary location for the food pantry to use until the new permanent location is ready. Mayor Pack said, “The city understands and appreciates the important role the food pantry and ministerial association plays in providing for those in need in our community. We are happy to be working with them to find a home that will best suit that purpose.”

According to a member of the church associated with the food pantry, they have secured a temporary location. WVDN will provide location information in a future update.

The pantry’s efforts to secure a new location highlight the resilience and dedication of its board members, volunteers, and supporters. As they navigate this period of change, the Ronceverte Food Pantry continues to uphold its mission of providing for those in need, ensuring that no one in the community goes hungry.

Those interested in contributing can make donations directly to the Ronceverte Food Pantry. Every contribution, whether food or financial, will play a crucial role in supporting this vital community resource during its time of need.
