MABEN W.Va. (WVDN) – A man has been arrested for the shooting death of a woman in Maben. The West Virginia State Police released the following statement:
“On Thursday, July 18, 2024, at approximately 1040 pm, Cpl M. C. Shifflette and Tpr P. M. Browning responded to Boone Street in Maben, WV in reference to a reported shooting. Troopers arrived on scene and confirmed the victim, identified as 72 year old Brenda Tilley of Maben, WV died as a result of an apparent gunshot wound. The accused was identified as 62 year old Timothy Bennett of Maben, WV. The investigation revealed Timothy Bennett and Brenda Tilley were in a relationship. Timothy Bennett was arrested without incident, charged with murder and housed in Southern Regional jail. This investigation remains active and ongoing.”
