Mountaineer Open Horseshoe Tournament Results

The Mountaineer Horsehoe League of Ronceverte hosted the Mountaineer Open Horseshoe Tournament at Ronceverte Island Park on Saturday, June 8, 2024.

There was a total of 15 pitchers who participated in the tournament with a total of four classes in the tourney as well. 

Class A

*= Tournament Champion

* Jr. Peters of Naoma, WV (2023 State Champ) — 300 shoes– 223 ringers–74.3% average

Solomon Simmons of Ronceverte, WV  340 shoes– 129 ringers– 37.9% average

Kenny Rhodes of Leon, WV  280 shoes– 108 ringers– 38.6% average

Allen Withrow of Ronceverte, WV  240 shoes– 83 ringers– 34.6% average

 

Class B:

* Roger Carter of Panther, WV  330 shoes– 120 ringers– 37.3% average

Gene Goins of Rainelle, WV  340 shoes– 96 ringers– 28.2% average

Jerry Davis of Lewisburg (2023 State Champ) 280 shoes– 90 ringers– 32.1% average 

Johnny Mitchell of Rainelle, WV  240 shoes– 55 ringers– 22.9% average

 

Class C:

* Doug Withrow of Hillsboro, WV  360 shoes– 87 ringers– 24.2% average

Fred Doss of Lewisburg, WV  330 shoes– 94 ringers– 28.5% average

Randy Doss, Jr. of Union, WV (2023 State Champ) 270 shoes– 32 ringers– 11.9% average

Randy Doss, Sr. of Union, WV  240 shoes– 55 ringers– 22.9% average

 

Class D:

Jimmy Nutter of Rainelle, WV  210 shoes– 21 ringers– 10% average

Freddie Hodges of Ronceverte, WV  280 shoes– 24 ringers– 8.6% average

Charlie Brown of Springdale, WV  270 shoes– 22 ringers– 8.1% average

 

The Mountaineer Horseshoe League would like to thank everyone who participated in the tournament and Allen Withrow for all his hard work in managing the tournament, and also the Mountaineer Horseshoe League.
