Bonnie J. King
Bonnie J. King, 88, of Fairlea, WV, passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2024.
She was born in Glace, WV, on March 10, 1936, and was the daughter of the late Raymond Kanipes and Lena McDowell Kanipes.
In addition to her parents, Bonnie was preceded in death by her brother, Raymond Kanipes, Jr. (Sandy); sister, Betty K. Reed (Maurice); and son, Wayne Carson King.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 70 years, James Carson King; daughter, Tina K. Donovan (Tim); son, Kent King (Janet); daughter, Kathy K. Bailey (Mike); and daughter, Tracy K. Norris (Eric); grandchildren, Ty Donovan (Melissa), Todd Donovan, Thomas Donovan, Krista King, Jarrod King (Dee), Garrett Bailey (Katy), Brooke Bailey, Ashton Norris, Caydon Norris, and Kylie Norris; great-grandchildren, Adyson, Ryleigh, and Tyler Donovan and J. W., Mary Jo, and Patch Bailey; and several nephews and nieces.
Bonnie was a faithful member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Ronceverte, WV, and the Lady’s Circle. She was a 4-H Leader and Brownie Girl Scout Leader for her children, as well as the neighborhood children. Friends and family alike looked forward to her spaghetti dinners. When you crossed the threshold of her house, she would always ask if you wanted something to eat or drink, until you said yes. Bonnie worked in retail sales for 40 plus years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church in Ronceverte with the Reverend Joe Geiger officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Salem Presbyterian Cemetery in Organ Cave.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Trinity United Methodist Church (Building Fund) at 373 Pocahontas Ave., Ronceverte, WV 24970.
