KANAWHA COUNTY W.Va. (WVDN) – The West Virginia State Police have released a statement regarding a malicious wounding investigation Investigation in Kanawha County. The statement is as follows:
“On Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at approximately 8:08 pm, Trooper. L.A. Wriston, and Trooper. N.J. Adams responded to RJ’s Recycling at 7090 East Dupont Avenue near the community of Glasgow, Kanawha County, WV in reference to an assault complaint dispatched by Kanawha County Metro 911 Communications.
“Upon arrival both Troopers observed the victim, identified as 42 year old Billy Wayne Palmer, of Hugheston, WV lying face up with severe lacerations to the face and head area. Troopers were able to identify a suspect however the suspect had fled the scene prior to the Troopers arrived. Billy Palmer was transported to CAMC General Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
“During the early hours of Thursday, June 6, 2024, the suspect, identified as 72 year old William Holt Cobb of Winfield, WV was located. Troopers were able to obtain an arrest warrant for William Cobb and take him into custody without incident.
“At this time, the victim remains in critical condition at CAMC General. This investigation remains active and on going.”
