WV State Police release statement on sexual abuse case in Clarksburg

CLARKSBURG W.Va. (WVDN) – The West Virginia State Police released the following statement regarding a sexual abuse case in Clarksburg.

“On Monday, May 20, 2024 Tpr. N. P. Clifton received an investigation in reference to a sexual abuse which had occurred at North View Elementary School located in the community of Clarksburg, WV. During the course of his investigation, Tpr. Clifton received information that Victor Lee Chess, a 1st Grade Teacher’s Aide at North View Elementary, had sexually abused a seven year old female student.

“On Friday, May 24, 2024, Tpr. N. P. Clifton obtained warrants for 50 year old Victor Chess of Clarksburg, WV for 1st Degree Sexual Abuse, Sexual Abuse by Parent, Guardian or Person of Trust, and Sexual Abuse by a School Employee. Mr. Chess turned himself into the WVSP Bridgeport Detachment and was arrested without incident. This investigation remains active and ongoing”
