BEVERLY- Some local kids competed in the 2023-24 West Virginia High School Rodeo Association state finals.
Ethan Holliday, Alden Holliday, and Sawyer Judy have competed all year in the events, and they capped the season off with some hard work and high finishes this past weekend at the Daken Arena in Beverly, WV.
Ethan Holliday, a hero and mentor to Sawyer and Alden, and a Greenbrier West student athlete, won reserve champion for the senior bulls in the high school division.
Alden took home first place as the calf riding champion in the youth division and finished fourth in chute dogging. Sawyer was the reserve champion in peewee calf riding.
Both Sawyer and Alden and their families thanked Ethan Holliday for the countless hours he worked with them and helped them prepare for anything and everything they would need to be successful in their young ages.
