CHARMCO- For the first time this season, David Lester has won the West Virginia Daily News Greenbrier West Diamond player of the week, the final week the award will be given.
Lester has helped lead his Greenbrier West baseball team to six consecutive wins after a 1-10 start and last week, he put up huge numbers. He hit .750, scored 10 runs, and had two doubles and a triple. He also racked up 11 RBIs and pitched 7 innings with 10 Ks for the red-hot Cavs.
Lester just narrowly beat out West softball’s Brilee Redden. The poll, in total, had over 16,000 votes.
As stated above, this is the last player of the week award as we do not select them once postseason play begins and softball opens up sectionals on Tuesday, April 30.
