GREENBRIER COUNTY W.Va. (WVDN) – Greenbrier County Schools recently announced that Emily Dunkle, a distinguished Agriculture teacher at Greenbrier East High School, has been awarded the prestigious title of 2024-25 GCS County Teacher of the Year. This accolade comes in recognition of Dunkle’s exceptional dedication to her students and her remarkable contributions to the field of agriculture education.

Dunkle has consistently demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the academic and personal growth of her students. Her tireless efforts extend beyond the classroom as she actively engages in various extracurricular activities and initiatives aimed at enhancing the educational experience for her students.

Notably, Dunkle was also recently honored as the West Virginia Department of Education (WVDE) New CTE (Career and Technical Education) Teacher of the Year, further highlighting her outstanding achievements in the realm of vocational education. Serving as the FFA Advisor, she plays a pivotal role in guiding students toward successful careers in agriculture. Additionally, Dunkle’s involvement in community events such as the Ham Bacon & Egg Sale and her partnership with the National Fish Hatchery underscore her dedication to promoting agricultural practices beyond the school environment.

Throughout her tenure, Dunkle has consistently demonstrated a passion for career exploration and has inspired countless students to pursue opportunities in agriculture. Her innovative teaching methods and commitment to fostering a love for learning have had a profound impact on the lives of GCS students.

In celebrating Dunkle’s remarkable accomplishments, Greenbrier County Schools expresses gratitude for her positive influence on students and acknowledges her invaluable contributions to the cultivation of future generations of farmers.
