LEWISBURG W.Va. (WVDN) – Robert C. Byrd Clinic is pleased to announce the election of Dr. Ryan C. Quinn, DO, as the new Resident Governor on The American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians (ACOFP) Board of Governors. Dr. Quinn was elected during the ACOFP Congress of Delegates held in New Orleans on April 3.
Dr. Quinn is a resident physician at Robert C. Byrd Clinic and CAMC Greenbrier Valley Medical Center. He has been an active member of ACOFP and has a demonstrated history of leadership, integrity, and commitment to osteopathic principles.
As the only Resident Governor in United States, Dr. Quinn will play a vital role in representing the interests of resident osteopathic family medicine physicians on the ACOFP Board. He will work with other board members to develop and implement policies and programs that support resident education, career development, and advocacy.
“We are extremely proud and absolutely certain that our future is in the right hands” said Dr. Quinn’s attending physician Dr. Mark Waddell, D.O. “This is a huge honor and responsibility they have entrusted him with. As Resident Governor, he will help to shape the present and future of our organization. I also think it is significant that they have selected a doctor who was raised in, trained in (both undergrad and med school) and is going through his residency all in the state of West Virginia. This means that they have someone who is very well acquainted with the Appalachian community and can speak to their needs on a national level.”
“I am honored to be elected as the Resident Governor and to have the opportunity to represent my fellow residents on the ACOFP Board,” said Dr. Quinn. “I am passionate about osteopathic family medicine and look forward to working with the Board to ensure that ACOFP continues to be a strong advocate for residents and the future of our profession.”
