Mr. James Lawrence “Flash” Gordon, 71, of Lewisburg, WV, died Saturday,
September 29, 2018.
Born November 12, 1946, in Lewisburg, he was the son of Neva Jo Cooley
Gordon of Lewisburg, and George G. Gordon.
James was a member of the Mt. Tabor Baptist Church and was baptised at
young age by Pastor Warren Lewis. James retired from UPS.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother,
George G. Gordon Jr., and Frances “Nanny” Hayes.
In addition to his mother, left to cherish precious memories are his
sons, James Lawrence Lane (Veronica) of Cleveland, OH, James Lawrence
Gordon Jr. of Lewisburg, and Craig Lamonte Johnson (Bonnie) of Richmond,
VA; daughters, Sherry Elain Jones (Louis) of Cleveland, Tracy Annette
Gordon of Atlanta, GA, Lisa Gordon Mackey (Chris) of Lewisburg, and
Melissa Raquel Gordon (Kelly) of Charlotte, NC; brother, Marion Gordon
of Lewisburg; and sister, Denise Gordon Jones (Jay) of Lewisburg;
special companion, Vickie Keleher; 16 grandchildren; 11
great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and
friends.
Funeral service was held at 1 p.m., Saturday, October 6, 2018, at
Lewis-burg Baptist Church, 246 N. Jefferson Street in Lewisburg with the
Rev. Greg Scott officiating. Burial followed in Greenbrier Memorial
Gardens in Lewisburg.
Friends called on the day of the service from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at the
church.
