Norma Jean Trout Ambler McFarland, 84, of Roanoke, VA, died at home
surrounded by loved ones Wednesday, October 10, 2018.
She was born in Alderson, WV, on March 14, 1934.
She was a lifelong resident of Alderson until 2017, when she moved to
Roanoke to live with her daughter. For many years, she worked as a
waitress, then became a restaurant/bar owner, but she was most happy
when dealing with her junk during her never-ending yard sales. She was
a good friend to many and helped anyone in any way that she could. First
and foremost, the strong love she had for her family was the most
important thing in her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Pete and Virgie Trout;
brother, Miles Trout; sisters, Gladys Smith and Judy Utterback; and
grandson, Josh Serreno.
She is survived by her brother, Donald L. Trout; and her children,
George Ambler Jr. (Vicky), Jean Brooks (Archie), Jeff Ambler (Teresa),
Mike Ambler, and Tim Ambler (Marilyn); grandchildren, Cindy Morgan, Chad
Ambler, Nathan Serreno, Justin Ambler, Megan Meadows, John Allen
Ambler, Michael Ambler, Chris Ambler, and Phylicia Ambler; several
great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
At her request, no service will be held.
