William Russell “Billy” Kittle, age 60, passed away Friday, August 24, 2018, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Roanoke, VA.
Born March 12, 1958, at Charlottes-ville, VA, he was the son of the late Russell Vernon and Carol Ellison Kittle.
Billy was a 1976 graduate of Union High School. He furthered his education and earned a degree in auto-diesel mechanics from Hamilton College in Charlotte, NC. Billy was loved by his community. He was a farmer, and he owned and operated Kittle’s Hardware Store in Union, WV. He was an avid Dale Earnhardt and NASCAR fan. Billy also enjoyed dancing and kicking up his heels every now and then. He was a family man, and he never met a stranger.
Survivors include his fiancé, Veronica Sizemore of Union; two sons, Devin Kittle and fiancé, Ashley Nichols of Union, and Lane Kittle and girlfriend, Clena Clark of Union; one daughter, Shaylee Kittle of Union; one stepson, Jed Gillilan and wife, Heather of Williamsburg, WV; Jasmine and Lindsey Hoke of Union, who Billy was like a father figure to; one brother, Doug Kittle and wife, Alison of Montpelier, VA; two sisters, Adrienne Kittle of Pittsboro, NC, and Dianna Shannon and husband, Paul of Fairfax, VA; one grandchild, Braxton Kittle; and per Lane and Clena, “another one is on the way”; special friends, Devin, Lane, and Jed’s mother, Toni Huff Kittle of Union, and Richard and Helen Burdiss of Union; several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
Funeral services to honor Billy’s life will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, August 30, 2018, at the Groves-Mann Funeral Home Chapel in Union with Pastor Allen Hilton officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery in Union. Friends will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may call Wednesday, August 29, 2018, from 6-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
