UNION- Every weekend, with a bow and arrow in hand, they seem to impress.

Greenbrier County Schools continued their ascension up the shooting ranks with a stellar performance at the Mountview Archery Tournament on Saturday, Feb. 24. Out of six elementary teams, Ronceverte placed third with a team score of 2617, Frankford took second place with a team score of 2672, and Alderson won the event with a team score of a whopping 3035.

Alderson’s middle school team took home the second-place trophy as well.

Last weekend in Charleston, in the biggest archery tournament in West Virginia at the Civic Center, Alderson finished second in Bullseye and 3-D. Frankford placed fifth in Bullseye and EGMS placed third in 3-D and first overall in 3-D. Kinley Honaker was first overall individually in 3-D and Braylyn Parker (score of 270) was the overall Elementary winner in Bullseye and 3-D. Regan Honaker of Alderson placed eighth with a score of 252 in the Elementary girl’s division.

Over 1,300 students participated in the event.
