Congratulations to the Greenbrier East Spartans wrestling team for finishing in 2nd place at their regional tournament this past weekend in one of the more impressive performances on the mat in recent memory.
East had 13 place winners and 11 state qualifiers. Keshawn Bland is a freshman regional champion (which ties a school record). East also had five freshman state qualifiers which breaks a school record. Furthermore, Calvin Roberts was regional champion and was voted the Most Outstanding Wrestler of the tournament.

Parker Hale- 3rd place
Kaden Stone- 2nd place
Elijah Lee- 4th place
Carter Hamilton- 2nd place
Carlos Rodrigo- 3rd place

Harrison Smith- 4th place
Calvin Roberts- 1st place
Austin Roberts- 6th place
Jacob Barker- 6th place
Owen Wolford also contributed team points that helped lead to the Spartans’ second place finish.
