GREENBRIER COUNTY W.Va. (WVDN) – One individual has lost their life following a traffic accident on I-64. Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy, Bart Baker released the following statement:
“On Friday, Jan. 19, 2024, at approximately 1:15 p.m., members of the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Department responded to a single-vehicle traffic accident on Interstate 64 near the 170 mile marker. Upon arrival, officers observed that a pickup truck had struck the guardrail and came to rest in the roadway blocking one of the travel lanes.
“The driver was unresponsive and EMS personnel was able to gain access to the lone occupant and transport them to a local hospital, where they were subsequently pronounced deceased.
“The name of the driver is being withheld pending notification of the family.
“Deputy Herman Rodriguez, of the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Department, is the investigating officer.”
