Ernest Entsminger
Mr. Ernest Grant Entsminger, age 93, of White Sulphur Springs, WV, died Friday, January 12, 2024, at the Peyton Hospice House, Lewisburg, WV. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Juanita Joyce Redman Entsminger; and his second wife, Mary Brown Entsminger.
Mr. Entsminger was born June 14, 1930, in Covington, the son of the late Julian Robert Entsminger and Mary Helen Buchanan Entsminger. He served his country as a member of the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Entsminger was employed as manager by the former AT&T Telephone Company for a number of years before his retirement.
Mr. Entsminger is survived by two sons, Richard Grant Entsminger of Harrisonburg and Julian Robert Entsminger and wife, Patricia, of San Bruno, CA; two daughters, Susanne Spindler of South Carolina and Ernestine E. Critzer of Roanoke; six grandchildren, Tyler Wright, Grace Critzer, Aaron Critzer, Jared Critzer, Laura Karwoski, and Joshua Spindler; a sister-in-law, Hazel Entsminger of Indiana; a number of nieces and nephews; and special friends, Bob and Sue Spicer, Buck and Vicky Caldwell, Dorothy Shinaberry, and Billy Fadorick
Mr. Entsminger is preceded in death by two sons, Stuart Lee Entsminger and Ernest Entsminger; a daughter, Tammy Entsminger; and two brothers, Dennis Lee Entsminger and Marshall Stuart Entsminger.
A memorial service was conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 14, 2024, at Alvon Living Word Church with Rev. Bobby McClintic officiating, assisted by Buck Caldwell. Interment will be at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery.
The family received friends on Sunday afternoon from 1 p.m. until time of service at Alvon Living Word Church.
