RONCEVERTE W.Va. (WVDN) – An announcement was released on Dec. 22, 2023, stating that the Clifford Armory in Ronceverte would be closed until further notice. The City of Ronceverte has now released an update. According to the statement, the Clifford Armory will remain closed for an indeterminate amount of time. The reason for the closure, which has been the subject of debate among locals since the initial announcement, is due to an anonymous complaint. Reportedly, the complaint alleged the presence of mold in the armory’s gym.
The city’s update notes, “Out of an abundance of caution, we chose to close the armory to the public until we can do the necessary testing.”
