RUPERT W.Va. (WVDN) – According to reports, a section of Church Street in Rupert was shut down this morning (Jan. 5) due to a devastating early morning house fire that resulted in the loss of the family’s home and a cherished pet cat. At the time of publishing, a part of the street reportedly remains closed. Drivers should expect delays and plan an alternate route.

A GoFundMe has been established for the family to help with any needs.

Multiple fire departments responded to the fire, including Rupert Volunteer Fire Dept., Rainelle Volunteer Fire Dept., Smoot Volunteer Fire Dept., Quinwood Volunteer Fire Dept. and Clintonville Volunteer Fire Dept.
