FAIRLEA, WV- The Greenbrier East Lady Spartans were like a fast train flying down the tracks in a storm.
And Berkeley Springs (2-6) just happened to be standing on the track at the same time.
The Spartans (6-3) jumped out to a 37-10 lead after the first quarter and went 11-of-16 from 3-point range in the first half to cruise to a dominant 93-40 victory over the Lady Indians on Tuesday, Dec. 26 in the Holiday Tournament at Spartan Gym.
The host Spartans have now won three games in a row, their second 3-game win streak of the young season.
In the 3-point barrage in the first half, Kennedy Stewart hit four of them, Jada Waller had three, Mackenna McClure got two, and Kala Waller and Hailey Heaster each hit one each.
For the game, East was an incredible 16-of-23 from beyond the arc.
Stewart finished with 22 points and 6 assists. Ava Workman had 15 and five steals and Ja. Waller added 14 points for the Spartans.
East will play in the varsity championship game on Wednesday night, Dec. 27 against Wyoming East.
