David Franklin Long
David Franklin Long, 80, of Caldwell, passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, following a short illness.
He was born March 7, 1943, at Renick, WV, a son of the late James Marion and Opal Pittsenbarger Long.
David was owner and operator of April’s Pizzeria in White Sulphur Springs and was a 20 year Army veteran.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two daughters, Lynn Higgins and April Long; nine siblings, Arlege Ray Long, Belza May Long, Thomas Jacob Long, Rose Mary Long, Belvia Evalie Long, Dortha Christina Long, Naomi Ruth Long, Robert Lee Long, and Varge Long.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Lisa Ann Watson Long; a daughter, Renae Long of Charlottesville, VA; a son, Mark Long (Leslie) of Cincinnati, OH; a son-in-law, Tim Higgins of South Carolina; grandchildren, Korrynn, Roland, Jessie, and Bonnie; a great granddaughter, Autumn; and a sister, Emily Kaye Long.
As per his wishes, his body will be cremated.
A visitation was held 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, December 15, 2023, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Chapel in White Sulphur Springs.
