WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS W.Va. (WVDN) – Early this morning, cranes and heavy equipment operated by Tempo Construction workers began the process of laying a pedestrian bridge across Howard’s Creek.
A total of approximately 142 feet from the rear of what was Big Draft Brewings’ parking lot to the other side of the creek, progress on the footbridge is underway.
A Monster Crane got into position to offload two sections of bridge that came on two separate tractor-trailers.
The bridge will be connected, hoisted over the creek into position, joined to the 14-foot steel beams that have been previously installed, and then concrete into place.
As things go to plan, the bridge should be in place by the end of the day.
The last stage will be the concrete pad to be poured, which will take place in approximately a week and take approximately 10 days for the concrete to cure.
Within three weeks, people can park at Howard Creek, walk over the bridge for a scenic view of the creek, and approach downtown with hassle-free parking just in time for the holidays!
It will be incredible for people to see rainbow trout, cascading waters and a picturesque view perfect for selfies and memories as they walk into town.
