LEWISBURG, WV- Bella The Corner Gourmet store is a lot like the old nursery rhyme, Humpty Dumpty. And thankfully, unlike its little egg friend, Bella is being put back together again.
After multiple semi-trucks took out the side of the building located right at the center corner of downtown Lewisburg in a span of about three months, construction crews are making progress in building the structure back, hopefully stronger than ever.
There are now signs around town that prohibit big trucks from making the narrow turn at the stop light, but just this week there have been two trucks that attempted it and stopped traffic for several minutes. Luckily, Bella’s was not hit by either, but the hope around town is that the signs will help make a difference.
Multiple comments on social media also explain that the truck driver’s GPS’ direct them to downtown Lewisburg rather than helping them take an alternate route where narrow turns are rarer.
Nevertheless, Bella The Corner Gourmet is almost back to 100 percent.
