National Heart Month has begun! A nationally recognized month for heart health awareness, heart month was first established in 1964. Heart disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women in the United States, and spreading awareness of healthy changes can save lives.
About 620,000 people each year die of heart diseas in the United States. The is one in four people. Coronary heart diseas is the most common type of heart disease, killing over 370,000 people each year.
