LEWISBURG W.Va. (WVDN) – According to an announcement from the City of Lewisburg, a boil water advisory has been issued within the city limits. This advisory is due to repair work on a mainline. The city will contact customers when the advisory is lifted.
The city also provided tips for customers on dealing with the boil water advisory. First, do not drink tap water without boiling it. The recommended procedure is to bring the water to a rolling boil and let it go for one minute. Then, let it cool before consuming. Bottled water is another option.
Additionally, boiled or bottled water should be used for washing dishes, food preparation and brushing teeth. Customers are advised not to use ice cubes made during the boil water advisory. Do not give pets tap water that has not been boiled and cooled.
