In one of the stranger games in recent memory, the Greenbrier East Spartans (1-8) hosted the Nicholas County Grizzlies (6-6) in a battle of former Class AAA rivals on Thursday, January 18.
With the Spartans missing senior point guard Cory Beswick due to a concussion he suffered Saturday night against Graham, VA, the Spartans struggled in their half court offense which led to ice cold shooting and several critical turnovers. When the final horn sounded, East had come up on the wrong end of the scoreboard, 56-46.
