Sidney Allen Morgan
Sidney Allen Morgan, fondly known as “Buddy”, age 69, went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, September 14, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Sid was born in Ronceverte, WV, on March 15, 1954, to the late Emma Rose Steele and Sidney Henson Morgan.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 30 years, Judith Kay Morgan; sister, Vicki Rose Morgan; and his nephew, Matthew Morgan.
For those who had the privilege of knowing Sid, they truly enjoyed his company and spending time around his kindhearted, easygoing nature. He was someone you could count on to keep his word. Friends describe loving him like a brother and someone you could depend upon. In his spare time, you could find Sid in the mountains hunting or the riverbanks fishing on the Greenbrier River.
Sid was well respected in his line of work and loved his job as a licensed arborist. He worked for Davey Tree Company and, most recently, Asplundh Tree Service. He had lately retired from his many years of service to reside in West Virginia.
Sid is survived by his sisters, Molly Morgan and her husband, Gray, Cindy Winebrimmer and her husband, David; as well as nephews, Jason Allen and Justin Morgan; nieces, Lisa Winebrimmer, Mamie Morgan, and Cherie Hubbard; stepchildren; Brian Pence and Pam Wilson; 5 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, and many grandnieces and grandnephews, cousins, aunts, and many friends who will miss Sid dearly. He is also survived by good friends, Ralph Reynolds, Vickie Eagle, and Dr. Chandler.
Funeral services for Sid will be held on Friday, September 22, 2023, at 2 p.m. at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Ronceverte with Pastor Joey Morgan officiating. Interment will follow at the Greenbrier Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive their family and friends from 1 p.m. until time of services on Friday at the funeral home.
