BRIDGEPORT, WV- The Greenbrier East Spartans went to Bridgeport this past weekend and hit the volleyball court in the Bridgeport Tournament. The Spartans did not come back champs, but they played well in certain sets and will look to rebound this week when they face Greenbrier West, Woodrow Wilson, and Pikeview on Monday, and host a tournament this Saturday, Sept. 23 at Spartan Gym. Oak Glen won the tourney title.

The Bridgeport results are as follows:

GEVB 2

Bridgeport JV 0

GEVB 1

Martinsburg 1

GEVB 0

Shady 2

GEVB 0

Oak Glen 2

Also, late last week, Spartan libero Dia Sauvage was selected as an elite high school senior and was named to the AVCA All-America watch list. That will be something to keep an eye on for Spartan fans over the next couple of months.
