God received another angel, Wednesday, December 27, 2017, when He called home Elmer Mack Dixon, 74, of Renick, WV.
Born September 17, 1943, at Renick, he was the son of Frank and Vesta Hanna Dixon.
Elmer worked as a carpenter most of his life. He was also retired from Greenbrier County Schools as a bus driver. An accomplished woodworker, Elmer was a hard worker who loved hunting and the outdoors, remaining strong throughout his trials with no complaints.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters.
Survivors include his “Angel” wife, Joetta Hayes; daughters, Dawn Dixon White and husband, Steve, of Cookeville, TN, Stephanie Sponaugle and husband, J.R., of Bushnell, FL.; stepson, Tommy Hayes (Kathy Hamilton) and stepdaughter, Karen Hanna (Pete), all of Lewisburg, WV; sister, Ada Dixon of Morristown, TN; grandchildren, Gabe White and Tanner, Taylor, and Tyler Sponaugle; step-grandchildren, Alisha Hanna and Thomas Edward Hayes and wife, Autumn; and several nieces and nephews.
A simple funeral service will be held at 1 PM, Sunday, December 31, 2017, at the Morgan Funeral Home Chapel, 252 Montvue Drive, Lewisburg, with Calvin Kelly officiating. Burial will follow in the Ellis Chapel Cemetery, Renick.
There will be no visitation.
