Open Enrollment Day for Monroe County Schools

MONROE COUNTY, W.Va. (WVDN) — Monroe County Schools have announced an open enrollment day for Peterstown Elementary, Peterstown Middle Mountain View Elementary, Mountain View Middle and James Monroe High School on Tuesday, Aug. 15, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.The district encourages parents and guardians of new students to take advantage of this opportunity to register their children for the upcoming school year. The enrollment process will be conducted at each respective school.

To ensure a smooth and efficient enrollment process, the district is requesting that all new enrollees bring the following documents: an original state birth certificate, an up-to-date shot record, and a social security card. These documents are essential for completing the enrollment process.

Parents and guardians, who are unable to attend the open enrollment day are encouraged to contact the individual schools as soon as possible. The district emphasizes that all new students must be enrolled as soon as possible to ensure a smooth transition into the new academic year.

Monroe County Schools are committed to providing a high-quality education for all students and look forward to welcoming new families into their community. The district encourages parents and guardians to reach out with any questions or concerns they may have about the enrollment process.

Students are required to meet certain healthcare requirements. Parents and guardians are encouraged to speak with their child’s healthcare provider to ensure they have all the necessary documents.
